Skin Tightening

About ReFirm™ skin tightening (ST) treatment

The FDA – approved ReFirm™ is a virtually painless treatment for skin tightening (ST). The ReFirm™ ST procedure combines safe and effective levels of infrared light and bipolar radio frequency energies to stimulate new collagen and elastin growth in the dermal (deeper)  layer of the skin. Additionally, the ReFirm™ provides a skin tightening effect by remodelling of the existing collagen in the skin.

Similarly to the FotoFacial™ skin rejuvenation, ReFirm™ is preceded by microdermabrasion (MDA) treatment. This combined treatment provides smoother and more radiant skin and enhances the effect of the ReFirm™ skin tightening treatment.

The combination of MDA and ReFirm™ is safe and effective on most skin types, including Asian and African skins. In addition, it is safe to perform facial skin tightening with ReFirm™ on men, since it does not affect facial hair growth.  ReFirm™ ST is a popular preventative procedure in the patients aged 30 -40 years. ReFirm™ can be performed on the face, neck, décolleté, stomach, arms knees, hands and other parts of the body.

What can be treated with ReFirm™ ST treatment?

  • ReFirme™ ST is ideal for targeting those tell-tale signs of facial ageing and skin, including jaw and neck laxity, sagging under the eyes, saggy brow lines, naso-labial folds, facial line and moderate wrinkles.

  • ReFirme™ ST is effective for improving skin firmness on different parts of the body

  • ReFirme™ ST in combination with MDA and other types of eMax treatments (IPL FotoFacial RF™ and/or fractional laser) shows visible improvement in the appearance of stretch marks

How many ReFirm™ ST treatments do I need?

Noticeable improvement is often achieved after the first procedure. For best results 3 to 6 treatments are recommended every 3 to 4 weeks. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6 – 12 months.

What happens after each ReFirm™ ST treatment?

ReFirm™ ST is a lunch time procedure, i.e. it has no recovery time. Both laser and radiofrequency have been used separately for decades in medicine and surgery, but the ReFirm™ ST exclusively combines infrared light and bipolar radio-frequency energy for ideal treatment outcomes with a very low risk of side effects and virtually no down-time. A few patients may exhibit some short-term local reddening. Mild swelling is normally expected.

The process of collagen synthesis stimulated by ReFirm™ ST takes on average 2 to 4 weeks. Therefore, patients see a gradual improvement in the firmness of the skin and “a plumping-up” effect within the first month after the treatment. Immediately after the ReFirm™ procedure patients notice an improvement in skin texture and some degree of reduction in the depth of lines and wrinkles. This is due to an immediate effect caused by remodelling of existing collagen.

Contraindications

In general, laser and light therapies are contraindicated in concurrent severe medical conditions like:

  • cancer

  • cardiac disorders

  • pacemaker or defibrillator

  • impaired immune system (HIV/AIDS, lupus)

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
(Fotofacialrf™)

About FotoFacialRF™ treatment

The FotoFacialRF™ combines the gentle light (IPL - intense pulsed light) and electrical energies to treat a variety of skin conditions at the epidermal level. Highly selective light energies are absorbed by the haemoglobin and pigmented lesions, but not significantly absorbed by the normal dermis. The combined energies of FotoFacialRF™ assist in thermolysis (heat driven distraction) of vascular lesions (e.g. facial veins, broken capillaries), resolves stubborn superficial benign pigmentation, and stimulates collagen synthesis and restructuring.

In order to enhance the skin rejuvenation effect of FotoFacialRF™ we precede it with microdermabrasion (MDA) treatment, all in one session. This combination approach results in smoother skin with a brighter complexion and visibly reduced fine lines and pores. After a number of MDA/FotoFacialRF™ treatments the superficial layer of the skin (epidermis) becomes thicker and thus provides long term improvement in the hydration levels of the skin.

MDA/ FotoFacialRF™ treatments are safe on most skin types, including Asian. A number of clinical studies has shown that elōs™ FotoFacialRF™ is superior in stimulating collagen synthesis compared to IPLs that only use optical energy. MDA/ FotoFacialRF™ can be safely performed on the face, neck, décolleté, and other parts of the body.

What can be treated with FotoFacialRF™?

  • FotoFacialRF™ rejuvenates skin by inducing collagen synthesis and thus compensating for volume loss and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Overall, FotoFacialRF™ restores skin to a more youthful state.

  • FotoFacialRF™ is indicated for treatment of skin with redness caused by vascular imperfections including telangiectasias, symptoms of rosacea and angioma.

  • FotoFacialRF™ is very effective for treatment of hyperpigmentation (sun spots, melasmas etc). Often we deal with cases where vascular lesions and hyperpigmentation occur simultaneously as a result of sun damage.

  • FotoFacialRF™, in combination with carefully selected home care products treats oily dehydrated skin, acne prone skin and acne scaring.

  • FotoFacialRF™ improves uneven and rough skin texture, tightens enlarged pores, and reduces white-heads and black-heads.

  • FotoFacialRF™ has shown a significant reduction in the appearance of stretch marks over a series of treatments.

How many FotoFacialRF™ treatments do I need?

Depending on the severity of the skin problem to be treated 3-6 treatments maybe required. FotoFacialRF™ treatments are repeated every 2 to 4 weeks. Maintenance procedures are recommended every 6 to 12 months after the completion of the course of treatments.

What happens after each FotoFacialRF™ treatment?

FotoFacialRF™ is a” lunch time procedure”, i.e. it has no recovery time. Temporary pinkness and swelling in the skin may occur and it lasts a very short time (usually less than an hour). The improvement in pigmented and vascular irregularities can often be appreciated after the first treatment. Brown spots temporarily go darker before they lighten.

Contraindications

In general, laser and light therapies are contraindicated in concurrent severe medical conditions like:

  • cancer

  • cardiac disorders

  • pacemaker or defibrillator

  • impaired immune system (HIV/AIDS, lupus)

  • epilepsy

  • eczema and psoriasis

  • Laser and light therapies are contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing.

Non-Invasive Fractional Laser Treatment

With Matrix IR™

About Matrix IR™ wrinkle reduction treatment

The Matrix IR™ fractional laser is the only applicator that combines a diode (915 nm) laser matrix and bi-polar radio frequency (RF). Use of this combination of modalities results in  overlapping light beams penetrating deep into the dermis to a depth of up to 2.5 mm to pre-heat the target tissue. RF energy, which is issued at the same time as the laser light, causes additional heating of the dermal tissue.

During treatment with THE Matrix IR™ fractional laser, the combination of laser energy and conducted RF energy induces skin injury that is maximized in micro-thermal zones (regions of greatest energy intensity) with an accelerated healing process supported by the tissue surrounding the micro-thermal zones.  As a result of heat, the wound healing process is initiated in the dermal (deep) layer of the skin, and fibroblast cells responsible for tissue repair start to produce new collagen and elastin molecules. This compensates for collagen and elastin loss caused by ageing and therefore, the volume of dermal tissue increases again with each treatment and “fills-up” lines and wrinkles. Additionally, deep thermal heating created by the synergy of laser and RF energies induces shrinkage (so called collagen remodelling) of existing dermal collagen and thus provides an immediate improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Similarly to other eMax treatments (e.g. skin rejuvenation (SR) and skin tightening (ST)), the Matrix IR™ fractional laser is preceded by microdermabrasion (MDA). The eMax aesthetic system allows combining Skin Tightening and/or Skin Rejuvenation treatments with the Matrix IR™ fractional laser in one session (see “triniti™ treatment”). This combination approach accelerates and enhances the results of the anti-ageing treatment on different layers of the skin.

The Matrix IR™ treatment is safe to perform on the darker skin tones, including Asian, and is also safe to use on men - it does not destroy hair follicles. Matrix IR™ fractional laser can be applied to the face, neck, décolleté and other parts of the body.

What can be treated with Matrix IR™ fractional laser?

  • Matrix IR™ fractional laser is ideal for treatment of deep skin depressions, lines and fine to moderate wrinkles.

  • For best results, it is combined with MDA and ReFirm™ skin tightening procedures to safely and effectively treat wrinkles and sagginess of the skin on the face, neck, décolleté and other parts of the body

  • Matrix IR™ laser in combination with MDA and other types of elos treatments (IPL FotoFacial RF™ and/or ReFirm™ skin tightening) shows visible improvement in the appearance of stretch marks and acne scaring.

How many Matrix IR™ treatments do I need?

Noticeable improvement is often achieved after the first procedure. For best results 3 to 5 treatments are recommended every 4 to 6 weeks. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6 to 12 months.

What happens after each Matrix IR™ fractional laser treatment?

The Matrix IR™ fractional laser has a unique feature - it is completely non-invasive (non- ablative), i.e. it does not disturb the surface of the skin, and leaves no marks or scabs, unlike other ablative fractional lasers. The Matrix IR™ applicator is supplied with intense epidermal cooling to protect the top layer of the skin and make the treatment more comfortable.

Considering the non-invasiveness of the Matrix IR™ treatment, there is no down – time (i.e. it is a lunch time procedure) and no local anaesthetic is required. After the procedure a few patients may exhibit mild short-term local reddening. Mild swelling is normally expected.

As we described earlier (see “About the treatment”) there are two mechanisms by which both skin tightening and fractional laser improve the appearance of aged skin. The main mechanism is through stimulating the synthesis of new collagen and elastin and this process normally takes up to 4 weeks. The second mechanism that provides an immediate improvement in skin texture and reduces the depth of wrinkles is due to shrinkage (remodelling) of the existing collagen. The process of collagen remodelling is temporary, and normally reverses by the time the new collagen and elastin has formed.

Contraindications

In general, laser and light therapies are contraindicated in concurrent severe medical conditions like:

  • cancer

  • cardiac disorders

  • pacemaker or defibrillator

  • impaired immune system (HIV/AIDS, lupus)

  • epilepsy

  • eczema and psoriasis

  • Laser and light therapies are contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing.

Diode Laser - Wrinkle Reduction Advanced Treatment

About Wrinkle Reduction Advanced (WRA) Treatment

The eMax wrinkle reduction treatment is based on a combination of diode laser energy at 900nm and bi polar radio frequency (RF) current. Both laser and RF energies are delivered to the skin simultaneously through the combined pulse. This technology provides efficient heating of the papillary and reticular dermis (1.5 to 2mm depth) under the wrinkles. Heating of the deeper skin layers would result in initiation of the wound healing process. During the wound healing process, the fibroblast cells in the skin synthesise new collagen and elastin fibres. Restoration of collagen and elastin in the skin promotes the reduction in the appearance on lines and wrinkles over a period of time. An immediate improvement in the appearance of fine lines and mild wrinkles is often seen due to another mechanism of action: WRA diode laser causes heat driven contraction of existing collagen fibres, the so called collagen remodeling.

WRA treatment may be performed in combination with microdermabrasion as a single laser treatment or more commonly it is used as a part of triniti™ treatment and in combination with FotoFacialRF™ and ReFirm™ skin tightening treatments. WRA is safe to use on darker skin tones including Asian skins. It may be used on the face, neck décolleté and other parts of the body. WRA is popular for use by women and men.

What Can Be Treated With WRA Diode Laser?

WRA treatment rejuvenates the skin due to its dual action in the skin: synthesis of new collagen and remodeling of the existing collagen fibres (see “before and after” pictures). Restoration of collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin promotes restoration of the lost volume and yields visible improvement in many skin conditions like:

  • lines and wrinkles (face, neck, décolleté)

  • skin laxity

  • poor skin texture (rough skins with enlarged pores, skin depressions)

  • acne scars

  • stretch marks

How Many WRA Laser Treatments Do I Need?

Depending on the severity of the skin problem to be treated, 3-6 treatments may be required. WRA diode laser treatments are repeated every 3 to 4 weeks. Maintenance procedures are recommended every 6 to 12 months after the completion of the course of treatments.

What happens after each WRA laser treatment?

WRA laser treatment is a” lunch time procedure”, i.e. it requires no recovery or down time. Temporary pinkness and swelling in the skin may occur and it lasts a very short time (usually less than an hour). The improvement in skin texture and lines can often be appreciated after the first treatment. More significant improvement is seen over the course of regular treatments.

Contraindications

In general, laser and light therapies are contraindicated in concurrent severe medical conditions like:

  • cancer

  • cardiac disorders

  • pacemaker or defibrillator

  • an impaired immune system (HIV/AIDS, lupus erythematosis)

  • epilepsy

  • eczema and psoriasis

  • Laser and light therapies are contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing.

triniti™ - Total Facial Renewal In

One Visit

About triniti™ complete skin renewal treatment

Radiance for You medical Aesthetics has the specific eMax aesthetic platform configuration that allows performing the triniti™ treatment. triniti™ is a complete skin renewal programme in one visit.

The triniti™ treatment represents a sequential application of the following light/RF procedures: skin rejuvenation (FotoFacialRF™), skin tightening (ReFirm™) and non-invasive fractional laser (Matrix IR™) or Wrinkle Reduction Advanced (WRA) diode laser.  All these treatments were described above in details.

With the triniti™ skin program, colour correction, texture improvement, skin tightening and focused wrinkle reduction can all be achieved in a single session. In our clinic we combine the triniti™ treatment with a prior microdermabrasion (MDA) treatment. This combination enhances the result of the triniti™ treatment.

Similarly to the individual eMAx aesthetic treatments (e.g. FotoFacialRF™, ReFirm™ and Matrix IR™) the triniti™ programme can be safely and effectively applied to most skin types, including Asian. triniti™ is a single innovative solution for the treatment and prevention of signs of ageing in both women and men. This treatment programme can be used on the face, neck, décolleté, hands and other parts of the body.

What can be treated with triniti™?

The triniti™ complete skin renewal programme is ideal for treatment of simultaneously occurring problems like:

  • Hyperpigmentation and/or vascular imperfections (redness)

  • Acne scaring, acne and/or poor skin texture

  • Skin sagginess

  • Skin depression, lines and wrinkles

  • Stretch marks

How many triniti™ treatments do I need?

The triniti™ treatment shows visible results after the first session. Depending on the age of the patient and severity of skin problems to be treated triniti™ may be repeated 3to 5 times every 4 to 6 weeks. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6 to 12 months.

What happens after each triniti™ treatment?

The triniti™ treatment has no recovery time. Temporary mild redness and swollenness may occur, but normally subside within an hour. Patients that have hyperpigmentation may experience darkening of the brown spots that normally lasts 7 to 10 days. Thereafter most of the spots disappear. Vascular imperfections lighten up within a month after the first treatment. An increase in skin tissue volume and improvement in lines and wrinkles is usually appreciated a month after the date of treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

About Laser Hair Removal using combined optical and radio frequency technology

The eMax aesthetic system provides the next generation of safe and effective hair removal technology. What sets the eMax apart from conventional optical (i.e. light or laser) only laser systems is that it is safe and highly effective in the removal of  even minimally-pigmented hair colours (including blond, grey and white) and all skin tones, including tanned skin. These advances in the performance of the eMax laser are due to a unique combination of two energies – laser (Diode laser 810 nm) and radio frequency (RF). Unlike laser, which is absorbed by melanin in hair and skin, the function of RF is independent of colour (“RF is colour blind”).

The eMax laser systems first preheat the target hair follicle using optical (laser) energy, which creates a thermal path along which the radio frequency (RF) travels. This ensures that RF is delivered directly to the hair follicle, which can-not conduct RF further to the surrounding tissue. This creates the build-up of current density and therefore overheating of the hair follicle (the so-called RF vortex heating). Under 80X microscopic magnification, distinct peri-follicular coagulation or bleaching is evident. The hair follicle is terminally denatured and permanently eliminated.

Permanent hair reduction using eMax platform is successful for both women and men from the age of 18 years. Facial and body hair can be treated.

How many laser hair removal treatments do I need?

Most people achieve satisfactory reduction in hair growth after 6 to 8 treatments, which are usually performed every 1 to 2 months. Touch-up sessions to remove the odd few “stray” hairs may be performed as required.

What happens after each laser hair removal treatment?

Temporary pinkness on the skin lasts a very short time and most people return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment. The treated area will “shed” some hairs over the next 3 to 4 weeks and there may be a short period of irregular hairlessness in the area until the conclusion of treatments.

Contraindications

In general, laser and light therapies are contraindicated in concurrent severe medical conditions like:

  • cancer

  • cardiac disorders

  • pacemaker or defibrillator

  • impaired immune system (HIV/AIDS, lupus)

  • epilepsy

  • eczema and psoriasis

  • Laser and light therapies are contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing.
